Milwaukee Public Libraries (MBL) will host a Blockchain Summit in Milwaukee on October 17, 2018, as part of the City’s “Smart City” initiative, which aims to transform the city and its citizens from one of the most digital-centric to one of its most blockchain-centric.
The event, hosted by the City of Milwaukee, will focus on “the intersection of technology, finance, and business,” according to a press release.
“Blockchain is a disruptive technology that provides the means for the exchange of value between parties and the building of a secure and immutable digital ledger that enables the efficient exchange of information.”
The event will feature speakers from the world of blockchain including the creator of blockchain platform Blockchain Capital, CEO of Blockchain Capital and Blockchain Ventures, and CTO of CSP Solutions, which operates the CSP blockchain service.
Additionally, the event will include an open mic night and panel discussion featuring the Milwaukee Public Chamber of Commerce and the Milwaukee Chamber of Business.
The summit will be led by Chief Information Officer for the City, Joseph Tausch.
The event will take place at the City-owned Milwaukee Public Market at 1601 N. Milwaukee Ave.
and will begin at 7 p.m.
The city’s Blockchain Summit will focus specifically on the Milwaukee-Milwaukee Public Library.
The conference will be hosted by CSP Partners and will include “five keynote speakers” who will include representatives from the CSA, CSP, CMP, the City and the City Manager.
Additionally attendees will be invited to participate in a “private lunch” and “public Q&A” session.
