Arsenal beat Norwich 3-1 on Saturday to improve to 18th in the Premier League table and secure a top-four finish.
The Gunners went close to adding a second with a superb header from Alexandre Lacazette’s cross, before Laurent Koscielny made it 2-1 when he hit the post with a penalty.
But a goal from the hosts proved enough to put Norwich in a difficult position.
Olivier Giroud had the last laugh after the visitors were level but the Gunners were indebted to their defence to deny Norwich the best chances.
Arsenal were never really in the mood for a comeback and had no answer for their hosts when they had chances in the opening half-hour.
The visitors, who were leading at the break, started well with the first attempt of the second half.
Nacho Monreal headed over from the edge of the area, but Koscienny went closest to net after two good crosses from Lacazetta and Alexandre Alexandrescu.
The Arsenal keeper failed to connect with a header from a corner and the visitors’ first shot was blocked by Tomasz Kuszczak, but Giroud fired the rebound home from close range.
It was a nervy second half and the Gunns were forced to turn up the tempo with Koscielski forcing a superb save from Lacazer’s header.
And Giroud doubled their lead when he struck from close in the first half.
